Went to the dentist on Friday. It went really well as far as these things can go well.
Annie watched me getting my teeth checked and cleaned. We had to end the clean halfway through because Annie kept jumping on and jiggiling my legs and every so often it would cause me whole body to move and when my head moved the cleaning equipment gave me ouchies.
I’ve got 2 minor decay spots and one fractured tooth where an old filling has worked itself loose - so that explains the pain.
Young Anne-Marie has 10 teeth on top and 10 teeth on the bottom and no cavities/decay. They are very happy with her.
The visit was half covered by our health insurance. I have to go back next week and get the decay and fracture spots fixed. That visit will be very ouchy on my wallet.
Off course now that Ralph is officially unemployed we have to have big bills come in.
My dental stuff couldn’t be put off because it really is very painful to eat.
Yesterday I opened the freezer and the seal was covered in ice. Looks like the fridge/freezer seal repairs we’d been putting off have put themselves forward.
That is one and two, I’m waiting for number three nasty unexpected expensive thing to pop up.
At least the job phone calls are coming in and more interviews have been scheduled.
Very proud of myself yesterday I did the fortnightly grocery shop and kept it under $200. Got so much fruit and veg I can not fit it all in the fridge and that cost less than $40. I love my market fruit and veg shop, they always throw in a few freebies and will tell me when something is not worth buying.
Annie and I were talking yesterday about why she couldn’t fit into a size 1 shirt. I showed her the tag where it said “1″ and said that meant it was for a 1 year old. Very basic explanation and not real accurate. I didn’t think she’d pay much attention because she has had difficulty recognising written numbers. Since then she has been checking out the tags on all her clothing. This morning she came to me very very excited that even though she is 4 years old she can fit a size 6.
So it seems I have inadvertently helped her to recognise numbers and become obsessed with clothing size.
This morning Annie told me she wants to become a chef and cook real food for people to eat. We used to do a lot of cooking together but as Heidi got older I had to cut that back, way too hard with two in the kitchen. Might have to try and figure out a way to get Annie back helping again.
