Chiloe, I’m not familiar with the DMC Ballet Dancers? Can you send me a link?
Must have been tired yesterday I was in bed and asleep by 7.30pm. Didn’t wake up until 6.30am this morning. No stitching got done last night.
In the morning I did the kinder/childcare drop offs. Had a coffee with Ralph at the plaza, then went to the post office. Ralph has four days off in a row - woo hoo! But he is struggling to get his body clock out of nightshift mode. I had to rush off to get to the doctors by 10.15 - more forms to fill out for Centrelink. Then back to Kinder to pick up Annie.
I was early for the kinder pick up so I rang Centrelink about a letter they’d sent me. Just can not believe that they have turned down my application for Carers Allowance because I’ve not proved that Heidi lives with us full time. She is 2.5yo where else is she going to live? Had a battle with our caseworker who is based in North QLD. Not a great help for us who are in Melbourne - especial during those in person interviews we need to have. Got off the phone just in time to go in and get Annie.
Annie took her scrapbook album to kinder for show and tell. Some of the pages are pictures of her and Heidi that I took. Others are pictures that Annie took and chose to put into her album.
The teacher pulled me aside when I showed up at the end of the session to collect Annie. I was a little worried that I’d done something wrong. But apparently she thought the album was a brilliant idea, very Reggio Emilia which the teacher is big into. I’d inadvertently hit on one of their main philosophies - helping Annie find her place within the community through pictures. End result of the somewhat confusing discussion (confusing for me anyway) was that Annie’s kinder teacher thinks I should look at a carer teaching.
I’m glad she liked the scrapbook album but really it was just me being desperate for something to keep Annie happy and entertained.
After kinder Annie and I raced over to K-Mart and picked up some toys we had on layby for birthday presents. Annie was not impressed that they were not for her.
Went go Heidi from childcare, then it was haircut time. I woke Ralph up and he came with us. Annie was very good for a change so she got her Pasta Zoo Happy Meal reward. While the girls and Ralph played at the indoor playcentre in the plaza I went to visit Riot Art again.
Got a present for Annie, a little something for her and Ralph to play with on his days off this week - Rock and Gem Dig. Looks really cool.
She is a little young for it but I thought with Daddy’s help it should be fun. Plus Annie loves rocks - she stuck another 6 from the kinder playground in her bag today.
As Ralph said ‘any toy that comes with safety goggles is bound to be fun’.
We got home about 2.30pm and it was back to bed for Ralph. The girls and I played for an hour then back in the car again to go see Aunty Lee we had a lovely catch up. The girls got a big bag of Barbie’s and accessories that their older cousins no longer need/want. I dragged myself and the girls away at 5.30pm, we all wanted to stay longer but it was getting late.
Got home and remembered it is Tuesday - FIL will be coming to dinner. So I quickly started throwing food together. Woke Ralph up and everything was almost ready by the time FIL knocked on the door. I excused myself early and went to bed. Way to much rushing around yesterday.
