Most Autie kids have overly sensitive hearing and the tinny noises of Xmas carols can be like fingernails on a blackboard; add in mobile phones,general public shopping noises and those high pitched alarms (they're also available as mobile phone ring tones)our Autie kids need ear muffs when going out. I do like the idea of giving a home made gift which often comes with more love than a store bought gift. I once decorated our bathroom with roll-on deodorant (when I was 5 or 6)... it even showed through the repainting efforts. LOL! HOw can we teach the joy of giving ( more fun than receiving in my opinion) to the kids if birthday parties are gifts free?
