The 80's pop loathing might come from the over-abused synthersisers which can hit a certain pitch that drives FB up the wall too.
Most Autie kids have overly sensitive hearing and the tinny noises of Xmas carols can be like fingernails on a blackboard; add in mobile phones, general public shopping noises and those high pitched alarms (they're also available as mobile phone ring tones)our Autie kids need ear muffs when going out.
Some parents do actually use ear muffs/ear plugs, with great effect.

Chiloe - I don't mind no gifts, everyone in our area has so much already, they don't need more possessions. I do like the idea of giving a home made gift which often comes with more love than a store bought gift.

Coffee is my new god.

Barbara - I'm working on well rested, got a short nap in this evening before hubby left for work.

Mental note to self - never ever purchase roll on deodorant.

Feeling caught up is GREAT, but I hope you'll soon be able to combine it with feeling well-rested, too.

I once decorated our bathroom with roll-on deodorant (when I was 5 or 6)... it even showed through the repainting efforts. LOL!

That's weird: why no gifts? HOw can we teach the joy of giving ( more fun than receiving in my opinion) to the kids if birthday parties are gifts free? I really loved the ideas of the cats blankets because the kids can learn to give for a good charity ;)

Hope you look better after your coffee !!!
