I crashed in front of the TV this afternoon to get a break from reality and catch up with some of my fav. hot hunks on WWE SmackDown!
What happens sickens me to the point I have to turn it off and walk away. It seems the WWE are teaming up with Jenny McCarthy and Generation Rescue (linky for more info).
Okay so I know that the wrestling is not real, the endings are decided before the event, it is all a fake, a sham. But the is sports entertainment and you know that going in.
That doesn’t make it right for them to try and sell a fake cure, a fake rescue, a sham of support to parents of children on the Autism specturm.
Jenny McCarthy herself in one interview can not decide if her son is recovered, undiagnosed, diagnosed or what (link). Yet there she is out in the public face screaming about vaccines causing autism. She needs something to blame, someone else to take responsibility.
Face facts lady, there is no reputable scientifically proven study that shows vaccines cause autism – nothing, nada, zip. All the reputable, scientific research points in other directions.
Here is my light entertainment suddenly taken over by lies, misinformation and selling a false tale of cures to rip off the desperate. It just makes me so angry.

Weird: WordPress is acting funny …
For the vaccine stuff: it should have more research but who will pay for the research when the pharmatical industry is so strong and powerful? From what I read , the lastest research thinks there is something in the brain. It’s better than when they thought it was a problem with the mothers …

WTF?!
This is just crazy crap!
Her comments sound to me like a mother who is in denial about her child having autism and in denial about autism itself.
Feral Beast just said “That’s stupid! Autism isn’t reversible. It’s part of anybody’s brain. You can’t remove it or cure it!”

I’m so sorry your light entertainment took such a dark turn. We’ve also done some reading on the vaccination scenario and indeed, there is no clear link between the two. You’ve done such a remarkable job helping people to understand and accept the mysteries of Autism and the wonderful people who are affected by it. Don’t be discouraged by the ignorant people out there yelling in the wilderness.

How can people make such bold comments without doing any research? Such a shame to lose the entertainment that you and your family love, sure that you will find something else.
Looks like you had a great holiday with Annie, thanks for sharing your wonderful photos. Sorry to hear that things are tough for your Mum, MS is such a horrible disease.

Chiloe – There is research happening but it is going in other directions as none of the research into vaccines showed any link. So far it does seem to be a brain development / genetic thing.
Jayne – crazy indeed. Feral Beast is one smart boy.
Barbara – thank you so very much.
Joanne – Thank you. We did indeed have a wonderful holiday.
Bettina – I’m really hoping they’ll move on soon. But is so sad that even a brief promotion will get the wrong idea locked into some viewers brains.

She was on with Oprah, saying how her boyfriend Jim Carrey is like the Horse Whisperer with her son.
**Sigh** I even saw the theory on Dr Phil.

Widdle – I knew there was a reason I don’t watch Dr Phil!
