Screw Up Tuesday is the brainchild of Bettina. Once a week we can confess our screw ups, good for the soul right
I think our biggest screw up for this week was the bookshelf falling on Heidi. Thankfully it was empty and neither Heidi nor the bookshelf was injured.
The bottom of the bookshelf is not real stable, it has little legs instead of a full base. Hubby has moved it into his computer room and chocked up the front legs so it leans slightly backwards towards the wall.
Then I filled it with all my bits and pieces that had been overflowing from other places.
Here is the offending bookshelf.
My other screw up was going to pick up Dad on the corner of Flinders St and Spencer St in the city on Sunday night. I took a wrong turn, ended up in the maze of streets in Southbank and got very lost, somehow ended up going towards a toll road, managed to get an exit, landed on Punt Road and then the Botanic Gardens from there I found a tram heading towards the city and followed it back in. I’m fine navigating my way around the northern suburbs but once I cross to the south side of the CBD I get terribly terribly lost, did not help that it was dark, I had both the girls in the backseat upset because they needed to use the toilet and were hungry. A traumatic screw up all round.
And I’m not sure if this is a screw up in the making or not, I’ve started a new blog – Aussie Farmers Direct Challenge. Given all the stuff going on in my life it may be just too much. But I do love to cook and I hate to waste food so I figured it was worth a try.

Its hard when you have the kids in the car to keep them calm when you know that you have made a wrong turn. I hate that. I would be fine if I didn’t have little people in the back stressing about it too. And that they were hungry and needed to go to the toilet makes it even worse. Glad you got out of there OK. I’ve walked around Southbank and that was bad enough, no way that I would drive there.

Oh I couldn’t stand those streets these days, they’re designed by scientists who play with rats in mazes.

Oh no – that getting-lost story sounds so familiar. I’m really bad this way. Glad you ended up okay!
We have CD cabinets like your bookshelf and have bolted them to walls.

Glad Heidi wasn’t hurt when the bookcase tipped over.

Thank you all for the lovely comments.
It is reassuring to know I’m not the only one who gets lost. What is worse I realised today we have no street directory in the car. Must get one asap.
