So much to smile about this week.
I’m thrilled that my Social Stories suggestion made it onto the Parent Hacks website, hopefully this will help more parents and children to successful negotiate changes, transitions and sometimes stressful situations.
I love this poem to Mums that Ann posted in her blog.
We have had some amazing spring weather.

Our gradual introduction of shaving cream resulted in a stunning sensory play success yesterday.

My girls always make me smile, I’m so lucky to have two wonderful children who actually enjoy each others company. Heidi’s reaction last night to our pink mashed potato was hysterical.

My neighbours car was in a little bingle this week, that doesn’t make me smile but their repair job does:

I wonder what led to the decision to sticky tape the hood down? And just regular sticky tape at that, nothing fancy like electrical tape.
And I’ve been crafty!
I helped Annie make a present for her Granddad:

Got inspired to do a couple more pages for my album about Annie:

Maddy – Smiley Saturday is a brilliant fun. Even on a bad week I can usually find something to smile about, then the week doesn’t seem so bad after all.

My wife did childcare for twenty some years and says the kids just love the sensory bin. My granddaughter doesn’t like the shaving cream feeling between her fingers, but loves the water bin.
Have a smiley saturday.

Thank you for the lovely and encouraging comments you have left on my blog. I love your idea of Smiley Saturday, though I do try to find something to smile about everyday. No matter what our trials if life there is usually something to smile about if you look hard enough, and life if far too short to waste it on misery.

Barbara – Hooray indeed, it has been a lovely week here.
Russ – Most kids do love the sensory stuff, we just have to introduce ours very gradually to avoid meltdowns but sometimes you get a stunning success and it makes it all worthwhile.
Helen – Very wise words there. Thank you.
Gemisht – The sunny spring weather seems to have brought a more sunny outlook with it.
Ranae – Thank you. Bubbles and shaving cream are the best fun (after eating pumpkin ice cream
)

That shaving cream made me cringe. I’m SO not a ‘messy Mum’. I figure that’s why God invented Art classes at school. The girls looked like they were having a good time though!
(The sheep stitchery looks very cute.)

Love the photo of the bubbles, bubbles always make me smile. If the girls loved the shaving cream, they would probably like shaving cream marbling on paper……

You have been busy and crafty. One of these days I’m going to try scrapbooking.
Congrats on being featured in that article on parent hacks.
