This cute King has been reigning over my spare time recently.
Next up is this mystery item, any guesses as to what it will be?

And to digress a little – I loathe stitching on plastic canvas so very much loathe it.
We’ve been spending most of our days going to the park in the morning and spending the afternoon at Granddads house. It has been a strangely peaceful yet also frantic time, we seem to intertwine large amounts of being busy and socialising with long peaceful stretches of just sitting and being together.

Heidi has become more… I don’t know autistic, Heidi-ish, something, she is more something. Her language skills have flourished. I love listening to her talk and the amazing associations she makes.
Pouring = spilting
Brushing = sweeping
I was fascinated with Annie’s language development and Heidi’s language development whilst unusual is equally fascinating.
But in contrast we’ve had a regression to the separation anxiety of 18 months ago, I can’t leave her side without tears and tantrums. We’ve also had an increase in her sensory sensitivity and she is doing less sensory seeking and more sensory avoidance. I can’t wait until school term starts up again and I can talk to her OT.
We find our ways to work around stuff though, like when we go shopping and Heidi has her chewy tube, usually her snow hat seen in the above pictures and she wears my big pink jacket as well which covers her from head to toe.

I’ve been watching TV shows while I do the dishes and while I stitch. Really enjoying catching up on the Sarah Conner Chronicles, True Blood, Dexter, Stargate Atlantis, and others which I have forgotten now.
My big plan is to get up at 4.30am each day and do an hours stitching in the quiet of the early morning when I have the house to myself. So far this plan has been foiled by me only getting 4 hours sleep a night (some nights 2 hours), so I’m resetting the alarm when I do eventually get the girls settled and get myself to bed. But still managed to get some stitching done which is good.
Also trying to do some reading, we’ve had a heap of books arrive from Amazon.com, currently on my bedside table are “Thinking in Pictures” by Temple Grandin and a book about Sibling Rivalry which I’ve temporarily forgotten the name of
Sadly the reading is suffering as I’m choosing to sleep instead of read.

I’d be choosing sleep too.
I always found with my Lou that development stuff went in spits and spurts and that often when one area started to take off that another would let go for a little bit until she equalled back out.
I’m sure she’ll be coping better with the sensory stuff again soon.
Bettina – thank you that sounds very reassuring. Marita
