Annie has been doing very well learning her Magic 100 Words, today she successfully spelled all her Red Words and read her Indigo Words
To help her learn the Magic 100 Words I have made a homework placemat for Annie, one side has the alphabet listed – upper and lower case – in the Victorian Cursive Font they teach at school, the other side has the Magic 100 Words listed in their colour groups. It is a very simple placemat, just an A4 sheet I printed on both sides and laminated… so handy having a laminator at home

The placemat comes in handy for letter of the week homework, we can see which Magic 100 Words start with the letter of the week (if any) and also for when Annie is writing letters and emails to her friends.
Do you know your magic 100 words?

TJ’s beginning sight words were a little different to those.
Glad she’s doing so well with them

My nephew is in prep at local Catholic school and he’s learning ‘Wizard Words’ which are similar but not the same.

I do know my Magic Words, yes
Also, have been thinking of getting a laminator – what do you have?

Mel, we just got the Officeworks brand laminator, I purchased it back in 2007 and it has lasted well.

Great idea. I would love a laminator!

Thanks
The laminator is one of our best investments because I’ve been able to laminate the childrens artwork with it – home made breakfast placemats, pictures to give away as gifts or put up on the wall. Also photo book marks and all sorts of stuff.

Hee. I went off and bought one (the same) yesterday, before I even came back and read your answer. We’ll have some fun with it, I’m sure.
