Heidi wanted a party with her PreSchool friends.
Heidi also wanted the Barbie and the Three Musketeers DVD.
So I thought I’d combine the two. Buy the DVD, invite PreSchool friends over for a movie viewing party.
Simple yes.
Only invited the girls because
A. There are less girls than boys and I don’t think I could happily fit 25 children in my living room.
B. Barbie is a girl thing… right?
C. I wanted to do this and retain my sanity.
Party is tomorrow.
I thought I’d keep things simple.
Vaccum the lounge room floor so there were no choking hazards, some of the girls have younger siblings coming along. Make sure the toilet was clean. But other than that I think the PreSchool mums will be forgiving if all is not perfect, they are mums themselves after all.
Provide finger food as we are meeting straight after PreSchool at lunch time-ish. Finger food is fairy bread, chips, pink cordial (apple + raspberry as per Heidis request) and of course popcorn for it is a DVD party.
Fairy bread for those not in the know is white bread with butter or margarine spread on it then sprinkled with cake decoration sprinkles aka 100s and 1000s. Here is a pic of fairy bread made with chocolate sprinkles… what can I say I love chocolate more than tradition
(please ignore the honey joys they are not at present relevant to my ramblings):

Not so hard, this I can manage.
Oh and look at this adorable photo of Heidi I found while looking for fairy bread pictures:

Mistress B even rustled me up some Barbie and the Three Musketeers colouring pages with her mad Google skills. So I’ve printed some of those off for activities incase the girls get bored. I also scored some cool musketeer type masks for 30cents each at a party shop. Dress Ups! Yay.
I’m all set for the party… or so I think.

Because between now and then I have a before school parent teacher interview about a bullying issue with Annie at school. This may be Annie misunderstanding and taking things out of context, this may be other children picking on her because of that and her being different, it may well be both. Either way I’m not looking forward to it and it has to be taken seriously because even if it is not intentional bullying that is what Annie perceives it as.

Then I’m off to my sister in laws to pick up some elastic because on Friday it is ‘Dress Up as a MiniBeast’ day at school. Annie would like to be a snail. So we have a box, we have fabric to go over the box, and thanks to my sister in law we have elastic to make arm straps to hold the box to Annie’s back. Ta-Da Snail! Thankfully Annie is at after school care tomorrow which gives me some breathing room to do post party clean up and snail costume construction.

From there I’m off to the doctors because I thought I should try and cram as much as possible into one morning, oh and because it is my last child free time before school holidays start.

Hopefully after all that I will have time to come home throw food in bowls and then off to PreSchool to collect Heidi and it is party time.
It seemed so simple really, then life happened.
Wish me luck

Good luck, sounds like you will be collapsing in a heap tomorrow afternoon. I hope that everything goes to plan , you get the bullying sorted for Annie, some answers from the Dr and that the kids have a wonderful time at the DVD party.
And remember, in all the madness that will be tomorrow, you need to breathe occasionally too
