Shepherding In Another Hot Hunk Thursday

So when you put your underpants on in the morning and your foot goes through a hole that is not either of the leg holes does that mean it is time to purchase new underwear?

Hot Hunk Thursday is the brainchild of WiddleShamrock so head on over to see more hot hunks :D

And my hunk for this rainy Thursday is…. drumroll please…..

Not a sexy enough shepherd for you? I’ve been working on him all week and was so very proud of him. Ahh well lets see if we can find something a little hotter.

Introducing Colonel John Shepherd (played by Joe Flanigan) from Stargate Atlantis. He can’t compete with Rodney in my eyes but he does come in a distant (very distant) second.

For the first time in a while I had a serious visit from the Frog. I’d almost finished Advent Hanger #2 a cute little shepherd when I got to the bottom and realised I’d managed to skip a row of stitches up the top - the entire row!! @#$#(^

So I unpicked him all and here is my re-stitched WIP.

A Tale Of Young Love

Annie has 3 kinder sessions a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Two weeks ago after Thursdays Kinder session Annie regaled me with tales of kisses.  She and a young lad named “C” had taken a liking to each other and decided this new friendship must be sealed with a kiss, and several more kisses followed from there.

Tuesday last week Annie and young C were overjoyed to be reunited after a long weekend apart and they went about holding hands.

Wednesday our young couple exchanged posies of flowers, made cards and paintings for each other.  It could be even be said that they behaved in a sickeningly romantic fashion.

Thursday came around and young C decided he wanted to play with the boys.  Annie sat on the climbing frame and sang songs about her great sadness, her wish to play with C and be friends once more.  Young C the foolish lad did not heed his fair maidens song and continued to roughhouse with the lads.

Tuesday came around again and Annie was despondent.  C had abandoned her.  What is worse, he pushed her in the stomach and called her a ‘poo poo head’.

Wednesday saw both Annie and young C take a day off kinder.

Then Thursday, once more our young couple are reunited, overjoyed to see each other.  hands are held, cards exchanged but it would seem our fair maiden has learnt.  No longer does she sit on the climbing frame and sing for young C when he proves fickle and wanders away with his mates. Our fair maiden turns her back and finds another boy to amuse her.  Young C did not like this, no indeed he did not and promptly returned to his Annie.

:D

Oh and look and WIP report.  All I have to do is a tiny bit of back stitch and the calendar will be finished!

Cross Stitch and Birthdays

Happy Birthday S!

I’m glad you were born.

And I thank the World Wide Web that I got to meet you because you are an amazing person.

Thanks to Barbara at Mainely Stitching I’ve found the perfect cross stitch for S so I might have to make it up for her birthday next year.

Speaking of stitching - look I’ve finished the numbers!!!! Now to do the border, I love the colours, blue and yellow but it is getting really tedious.

And some random waffle about my day yesterday. Annie had a major temper tantrum in the morning so I left her at home with poor hubby who’d just finished a 14 hour shift at work. Took Heidi to Pre School, boy was Annie pissed at not getting to go with Heidi! I apologised for not being able to do parent duty I was rostered on for and went back home. Then I took Annie out to the shops for some one on one time, I correctly guessed the temper tantrum was caused by too much focus on Heidi recently. Annie was such a little angel and every shop we went into Annie got seriously fussed over and she was so charming and polite - nothing like she had been at home.

We went to our special coffee shop together and Annie did the ordering, large latte for mummy, chocolate milk shake for Annie and a plate of mini pancakes with strawberries. Mmmm yummy. But it took ages for our order to arrive and Annie started getting difficult. So inspiration struck, I grabbed the little packets of sugar on the table and we had an impromptu math lesson. If Mummy has 3 sugar packets and Annie has 2, how many sugar packets are there? What if Annie had 3 packets and mummy had 2, how many would it be then? Much fun and giggles ensued as we played sugar math. Annie didn’t even want to stop for her food. :)

Food for Thought

one of those days

From Autism Vox:

“So I wasn’t surprised to read that the Mosquito—-a black box that emits a high-decibel pulsing noise several times a second over a 15-mile radius—has been having “serious effects” on autistic individuals. The Mosquito is being used by a number of retailers in the UK to keep teenagers from loitering around, on the grounds that only those 25 years and younger can hear it. As reported in today’s Guardian, the Co-op has said that it will cease use of the devices and instead play Mozart and Barry Manilow music to (it is hoped) keep away the teenagers.”

I wonder if something like that is what sets Heidi off when we are out shopping. Have worked out that certain music (80s Pop) makes her scream and cover her ears, wonder if that is related to pitch or just the sheer horror of 80s Pop? Christmas is always difficult and now I’m pondering what it could be about the constantly repeating Christmas carols that might set her off - or is it just the increase in sound, more people, more movement, more sensory input on every level.

The shaving brush. It doesn’t seem inherently evil, there is nothing there to say ‘I will cause great grief and destruction”, it looks so innocent.

Yet grief and destruction follow in its path.

“I painting”

“I a Daddy painting”

Which leads me to wonder why soap (which now covers every surface in our bathroom) is so hard to clean off, I mean we use it to clean ourselves. Why can’t I just wipe it off the walls, floors, doors etc as easily as it washes off my hands?

Annie went to a birthday party yesterday. She wanted to take a gift for the 1yo birthday boy but the invitation said ‘no gifts’. So we compromised and Annie made him a rattle - we 1/3 filled an old drink bottle with rice. Then I sealed the lid on with colourful childrens bandaids and Annie decorated it with stickers. She looks a little crazy in the picture but was very proud of the end product.

And I got a little more stitching done. Been very productive the last couple of days. Keeping up with the laundry, dishes, doing stuff with the girls and even getting some stitching in - plus I caught up on all my blogs and commenting. But I’m lacking in sleep and living on coffee. Not sustainable but it is nice to feel all caught up for once.

Well that is enough of my mad mutterings. I’m off to try and work out some kind of menu plan, seeing as it is Monday and all.

Smiley Saturday time again. If you want to join in then click on the Smiley Saturday link above and head over to Lightenings to enter your Smiley Saturday link.

Lots of little things to smile about.

1. Picking Heidi up from Kinder I said to her “I missed you” and she said “I missed you too”. Her responsive language is just leaping along.

2. Annie’s birthday was heaps of fun and we spread the celebrations out over a few days which made it even more fun.

3. I got some stitching done. :) Which has helped ease the pain of my job a little.

I’ve been working hard to ignore this

and this

so I can do something I enjoy for a little while. And I’m smiling because of the wonderful support from my blogging friends about not enjoying my job.

5. I locked myself out of the house on Thursday and went to visit my SIL to get a spare key. She offered to babysit for me so that I got an hour to myself. Wonderful, a mistake turned into something very special. Sure I used the time to wash dishes and cleaning the living room but I could do it all with my music on at top volume.

6. Grandy the Gorilla is visiting us - he usually lives at Annie’s kinder. Last night Annie had many nightmares, all about the cookie monster. Grandy, DRD #5, Charlie the Doll and Annie’s WWE pillowcase helped protect her from the cookie monster.
